History and Experience

As an employer representative, I've been directly involved in policy development, contract negotiation, and employee relations. I've served as a representative or project manager, on many partner councils, committees, and projects over the years, including Public Safety, Emergency Management, and EMS projects at the local, state, and federal levels.

In the film industry, I've worked on major features and network shows, providing medical support and ensuring a safe working environment. I've also been involved in office, scheduling, payroll, training. Additionally, I served as a local Medic committee member, a union steward, and co-chair of the Medic department's recent contract negotiating committee.

It's not just about my qualifications – it's about my passion for union film and television. I believe in creating a collaborative environment where we can focus on our best work, knowing that our unions are working to support us with the best benefits, safe environments, and fair pay.

As your AFL-CIO Labor Delegate and Executive Board Representative , I will carry your voice and concerns to the Excutive board meetings, addressing both on- and off-production issues. I will then convey our collective concerns to the AFL-CIO meetings.

My Commitments

  • Advocate for your rights and interests

  • Work tirelessly to advance our union's goals and objectives

  • Foster a culture of collaboration open communication and Balance.

Derron Delaney,
479 Union Paramedic

My Fellow Union Members, I am honored to be given the opportunity to endorse Brannon Young Malcom in his bid to represent our union on the E Board in the AFL-CIO delegate posi#on. I am asking you to join me in showing him your support by giving him your vote. There are few people in this world whose ac#ons match their words but, Brannon is most de)nitely one of those people. He has spent his en#re career serving and saving others. When Brannon is presented with a problem, he solves it--he doesn’t complain about it, he works to )x it. I have personally witnessed this on mul#ple occasions…in his work as a medic, as a union member who’s willing to collaborate with others to get things accomplished and as a good friend. There are few individuals that can be counted on in each of these categories and when you are privileged enough to know someone of that caliber, you should exclaim it proudly and share it with everyone you can. I am con)dent in saying that I know what kind of a human being he is and what he represents. We will not have a be/er candidate to put forward to represent our union than Brannon. My name is Derron Delaney and Brannon Young Malcom has my vote for the AFL-CIO delegate position. Please join me and remember to place your vote!

Met Clark,
479 Union Paramedic

It is with great confidence and enthusiasm that I endorse Brannon Young Malcom for the E Board and AFL-CIO Delegate position. Brannon's vision for these roles is both refreshing and vital. He understands these positions as opportunities to serve, uniting members by fostering open communication, embracing diverse perspectives, and helping to shape the union’s goals for improved work conditions, benefits, and pay for every member. Brannon is not interested in titles—he's interested in real change. He recognizes that true solidarity is built on active participation, something he feels is lacking in our union’s day-to-day operations. Brannon’s message is clear: if we want change, we need to be the change. With a staggering 0.25% meeting participation rate, Brannon sees the vast potential we have if more members join him in making their voices heard. His "18 Hours to Change" initiative is a brilliant reminder that only a few hours a year are required to help drive impactful decisions for our future. Through online voting and virtual meetings, participation has never been easier. Brannon doesn’t just ask for your vote—he calls on each of us to take a more active role in shaping our union’s future. Brannon Malcom has my full support because I know he will be a representative who listens, brings us together, and tirelessly pursues the betterment of every member’s work environment. Join me in voting for Brannon, and let’s make our union stronger, more inclusive, and more impactful than ever. In Solidarity, Met Clark Local 479
